Mana Archery Club is an archery club located in Porirua, New Zealand. Situated at the Plimmerton Domain, adjacent to the Plimmerton Railway Station, the club offers a range of archery disciplines, including indoor, field, and target archery.
At Mana Archery Club, archers of all abilities and experience levels are welcome. Whether you're looking to have fun or compete at club, regional, national, or international levels, our club provides a supportive and inclusive environment. Our membership spans from 12-year-olds to individuals over 70 years old, ensuring a diverse and vibrant community.
When it comes to our shooting ranges, Mana Archery Club boasts a main 90m range on the Plimmerton Domain and a 30m range on the adjacent bowling green. These ranges cater to a variety of target distances, ranging from 5m to 90m. Our targets also vary in size, from 5 cm across to 120 cm across, and even include full-size 3D animals and dinosaurs for a unique shooting experience.
Target shooting takes place outdoors on Saturday mornings throughout the year, typically from 9:30 am to midday. Additionally, field shooting is available on Sundays, but it must be arranged in advance. Our shooting calendar may include special events and competitions, which are updated regularly on our Facebook page, ManaArcheryClub.
The Mana Archery Club is not only a place for recreational shooting but also a hub for competitive archers. Our members, both past and present, boast impressive achievements, including NZ record holders, World record holders, World Champs participants, NZ National Champions, and Masters World Champions. We offer opportunities for those interested in competitions, catering to their needs and providing guidance and support.
As for membership costs, information is available on our website. We strive to make archery accessible to all who are interested, and we have equipment available for use by club members. However, it is recommended to have your own gear for personal convenience and practise.
If you're new to archery or unsure about certain aspects, don't worry. The Mana Archery Club provides a Frequently Asked Questions section on our website, addressing common queries about archery, gear requirements, shooting schedules, competition participation, and more.
In terms of safety, Mana Archery Club prioritises the well-being of its members, adhering to health and safety protocols, including those related to COVID-19. We also value inclusivity, offering archery opportunities for all genders. While World Archery and the Wellington Archery Association may have divisions based on gender, our club frequently holds shoots that are not gender-based, allowing all genders to compete on an equal footing.
