Kia ora team,
Scott wanted to share a bit about what makes the Manapouri Boating Club (MBC) special. Established way back on 6 Feb 1950 by a tight-knit group of mates and whānau, MBC has grown to include over 200 members who love fishing, water-skiing, wakeboarding, sailing, and general boating on the stunning Lake Manapouri.
One of the key perks is the club’s private boat ramp, just for members. It makes getting onto the lake easy as. Plus, there's a public boat ramp that MBC looks after for everyone else's convenience.
Scott's excited about the club’s annual events – they’re always a highlight. The Davy Jones treasure hunt is a crowd favourite. For the latest updates, members can always check the Events & News page.
Take a peep at the club's gallery to see all the fun – from fishing trips to wakeboarding and other boating adventures. It’s a great snapshot of the lively community and good times at MBC.
Joining MBC means becoming part of a passionate group of boating enthusiasts. There’s heaps of camaraderie and opportunities to meet other like-minded folks. If you’re keen to join, all the info you need is on the contact page.
Safety is a biggie at MBC. Scott encourages everyone to not just carry lifejackets, but to wear them. There’s also handy info on VHF radio channels for emergencies and general comms.
The club values its ties with organisations like Fish & Game Southland, Destination Fiordland, and the Department of Conservation, among others. They help make the boating community even better.
To wrap it up, the Manapouri Boating Club is all about bringing together boaties in Manapouri. With a private ramp, cool events, and a focus on safety, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the water.
Cheers,
Scott and the MBC Team
