Since 2005, under the guidance of sensei David Yates (5th Dan), Manchester Aikido has been dedicated to the practise of this traditional martial art. David took on the role of chief instructor with a commitment to maintaining a space for everyone to learn and grow.
Located on Chester Road, the club brings together individuals of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or have years of experience, Manchester Aikido offers a place to learn self-defence, improve fitness, or simply explore Aikido.
David Yates is known for his technical skill and fostering a positive training environment. He is supported by a team of assistant instructors who ensure students receive personalised instruction and guidance.
The training facility is equipped with a traditional tatami mat, ensuring a safe practice space. Regular seminars and workshops with guest instructors are also organised to enhance learning experiences.
