Marazion Karate Club

Mind, and learn self-defence techniques with our adult karate classes. Suitable for individuals aged 13 and over, our classes are designed to build confidence, improve fitness, and teach practical self-defence techniques. Whether you're a beginner or have previous experience in martial arts, our classes cater to all levels and abilities.

Marazion Karate Club is located in Marazion Junior School Hall, conveniently situated near Penzance and other nearby villages. Our training sessions take place every Tuesday, with kids' classes running from 7-8pm and adult classes from 8-9pm.

The club is run by Denzil Searle, a highly experienced 4th Dan Black Belt and design engineer by profession. Denzil also has expertise as an archery coach. Under his guidance, students can learn and improve their technique, fitness, confidence, and self-discipline. Classes follow a syllabus of techniques for each grade, incorporating influences from Japanese and Chinese martial arts and revealing the integrated system developed by Mr Mayo.

At Marazion Karate Club, we are a friendly and approachable non-profit club, welcoming newcomers of all genders, abilities, and ages. We believe in creating a supportive environment where individuals can develop their skills and reach their full potential. To encourage new students, we offer a free trial class, allowing them to experience our training and determine if it's the right fit for them. Our classes are pay-as-you-go, ensuring flexibility and affordability for all.

For children aged 5-12 and families who wish to train together, we offer dedicated kids karate classes. These classes focus on building confidence, teaching practical self-defence techniques, and cultivating self-discipline. With an average class size of 6–8 students, we ensure individual attention and a safe and engaging learning environment.

Our fully-qualified instructors, Denzil Searle and Paul Broocks, hold 4th Dan and 2nd Dan Karate Black Belts respectively. They bring their expertise and passion to every class, providing high-quality instruction and guidance to students.
