Medicine Hat Lawn Bowling is a vibrant and inclusive athletic club located in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The club is dedicated to promoting the sport of lawn bowls and providing a welcoming environment for both experienced bowlers and newcomers to the game.
At the autumn general meeting in September 2023, a new board was elected, with Curt Moll stepping into the role of club president. The club extends its gratitude to outgoing president Joan Theriault for her years of dedicated service. The board is comprised of passionate individuals, including Jean Bresee as vice-president, Cave Starling as secretary-treasurer, and directors Barb Moll and Linda Bower, who oversee youth programming, rentals, and the kitchen, respectively.
The club hosts a weekly Jitney event, where members come together for friendly competition and social interaction. Linda Bower and Mike Gilchrist were declared Jitney champions in the latest event, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship on the green.
In the pairs league championship, Mike and Marina Gilchrist emerged victorious, claiming their first championship title. Doug and Yvonne Sanregret secured the pairs B championship, earning their first Red Amos Trophy win.
Curt Moll defended his men's singles championship with a remarkable comeback victory over Mike Gilchrist. New bowler Janette Starling made her mark in the ladies league, defeating two-time champion Barb Moll to claim her first championship in her inaugural year of play.
