The Men’s Wednesday Winter League at Pennington Golf Club is the perfect opportunity for avid golfers in Leigh to showcase their skills and enjoy some friendly competition. Taking place every Wednesday, this 9-hole STABLEFORD competition allows players to participate at any time, as long as they play with at least one other PGC member.
To get involved, all players need to do is sign in, pay the £2 competition fee, and collect their card from the golf shop. It's important to remember that the card must be returned to the shop before the close of play. This competition is handicap qualifying, and the best 10 rounds throughout the summer will contribute towards determining the winner.
During winter, the format alters slightly. The Winter Wednesday League remains a 9-hole STABLEFORD competition, but the competition fee is still £2 and it's no longer handicap qualifying. Instead, it follows a 3/8 Handicap system with a maximum of 11 shots allowed, allowing more members to participate on Wednesdays. Just like in the summer, the top 10 scores will count, and the player with the most total points from the best 10 rounds will be crowned the winner at the end of winter.
So, why not come and join the Wednesday Winter League at Pennington Golf Club? Not only will you have the chance to improve your golf skills and compete with fellow golfers, but you'll also have a fantastic time in a welcoming and friendly environment. Simply sign up, pay the competition fee, and collect your card from the golf shop. And don't forget to return your card before the close of play. Best of luck and enjoy the game!
Remember, this event is hosted by Pennington Golf Club.
