Welcome to Meraki Dance Academy, a premier dance studio located in Crestmead, Queensland. With a focus on imparting the love of dance to all of our students, we are committed to providing sound technical training and nurturing expressive performing artists.
At Meraki Dance Academy, we offer a variety of dance classes catering to different age groups and interests. One of our popular programmes is Mini Movers, designed for children aged 2–3 years old. This class allows young dancers to discover the joy of rhythm and movement while grooving along with their grown-ups. Through fun music and dance activities, children develop gross motor skills, improve coordination, explore different rhythms, expand spatial awareness, and most importantly, have fun!
For those interested in the classic art form, we offer Classical Ballet classes. Ballet is one of the oldest forms of Western dance still practised today. Originating in the Italian Renaissance Courts of the 15th Century, ballet is recognised as an essential foundation for dance training. Our ballet classes focus on precision, strength, grace, agility, discipline, and persistence, helping dancers achieve remarkable results.
Jazz dance is another popular offering at Meraki Dance Academy. Known for its energy and versatility, jazz dance incorporates strength, flexibility, and conditioning exercises. Along with travelling work and progressions including turns, kicks, and leaps, jazz is constantly evolving and encompasses a wide range of styles, from Musical Theatre to Music Videos.
For those interested in a more creative and expressive dance form, we offer Lyrical Contemporary Dance. Contemporary dance emerged as an alternative to ballet, embracing different movement patterns and the freedom to express oneself. This beautiful and complex dance form has gained popularity among younger dancers, thanks to its inclusion in shows like SYTYCD (So You Think You Can Dance).
