The Meridian Kung Fu Basildon Mixed Martial Arts club is proud to offer the Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Instructor Programme. This programme is designed for individuals who have a deep commitment to teaching the beautiful martial art of Meridian Kung Fu and a burning desire to enhance the lives of their students.
The programme consists of 6 Levels of progression, each offering valuable skills and knowledge necessary to become a Meridian Kung Fu Instructor. Participants will be taught coaching and management skills in monthly 2-hour seminars at our headquarters (HQ), led by our experienced Instructor and business mentor, Sifu Steve Carpenter. These seminars are complemented by hands-on training in actual classes once a week, which allows participants to develop the high level of skill required to become a Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Coach.
It's important to note that while the programme is free of charge, we only accept a limited number of new recruits each year, and strict guidelines must be followed throughout the 4-year programme. Additionally, there are some associated costs, including a coaching kit (£60), coaching manual (£15), and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (£9).
Let's take a closer look at the progression levels in the Instructor Programme:
- Level 1: Participants will be introduced to basic class involvement duties, such as setting up equipment, preparing the training area, and ensuring basic health and safety checks.
- Level 2: This level focuses on introducing coaching skills, including pad and drill training under strict supervision, creating rapport with individual students, and assisting with warmups.
- Level 3: Participants will learn about class management systems, including maintaining the class register, organising students before and after a training session, keeping order within the training area, and following the curriculum. Assistance with cool down is also included.
- Level 4: Advanced Coaching skills will be taught at this level, including coaching small groups, maximising student participation, making sessions enjoyable and effective, and running warm up and cool down activities.
- Level 5: In this level, participants will focus on their demonstration coaching ability. They will learn about equipment set up, conducting health and safety checks, training small groups based on specific curriculum, and leading warm up and cool down sessions.
- Level 6: This final level covers branch management tuition, including economics and enrolment, marketing and recruitment, maintenance, insurance, and first aid. Participants will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully manage their own branch.
Upon completion of Level 6, provisional Instructor status will be awarded. If all the standards outlined in the Instructor's handbook are met, full Instructor status will be awarded. Additionally, Meridian Kung Fu (UK) offers a one-year trial period for new Instructors to open a branch in a designated zone. For those who meet all the standards set out in the handbook, this is an incredible opportunity to shift lifestyle and create exceptional young martial artists. We can even provide a full-time premises on a lease basis in any area of the UK if needed.
Becoming a Meridian Kung Fu Instructor is not just a job, it is a passion. If you want to learn more about the Programme, we encourage you to reach out to your branch instructor. They will be more than happy to provide you with all the details and answer any questions you may have. Don't miss out on this unique career change opportunity or a chance to embark on a new direction unlike any other available.
