Meridian Kung Fu Hockley, a local Mixed Martial Arts club, is excited to promote their upcoming event, the Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Instructor Programme. This programme offers individuals the chance to become qualified instructors and potentially run their own branch within the club. To be a part of this programme, participants must have a deep commitment to teaching martial arts, exceptional skill levels, and a burning desire to enhance the lives of their students. The programme consists of 6 Levels of progression, which must be successfully completed to obtain Probationary Instructor level.
Throughout the programme, participants will attend monthly 2-hour seminars at the headquarters. These seminars will be led by experienced instructor and business mentor Sifu Steve Carpenter, who will teach coaching and management skills. In addition to the seminars, participants will receive hands-on training in actual classes once a week. This practical experience is crucial in developing the high level of skill necessary to become a Meridian Kung Fu (UK) Coach.
The best part is that the programme is offered free of charge. However, only a limited number of new recruits are accepted each year, and participants must adhere to strict guidelines throughout the 4-year programme. There are also a few necessary purchases, such as coaching kit (£60), coaching manual (£15), and a DBS check (£9).
The programme covers a wide range of coaching aspects, including basic involvement duties, coaching techniques, class management, advanced coaching skills, demonstration coaching ability, and branch management tuition. Participants will learn how to set up equipment, maintain class registers, ensure health and safety, follow the curriculum, and much more.
Once all levels of the programme are successfully completed, participants will be granted provisional instructor status. Meridian Kung Fu (UK) then offers a one-year trial period to open a branch for those who meet all the standards outlined in the Instructors handbook. Upon successful completion of the trial period, full instructor status is awarded.
Furthermore, Meridian Kung Fu (UK) can provide a full-time premises on a lease basis anywhere in the UK, should the instructor require it.
