Mickleover Cricket Club, right here in Derby, extends a warm welcome to cricket enthusiasts of all backgrounds and abilities. For adults, Mickleover CC runs four senior teams, with nets on Tuesday nights from April onwards (weather permitting). This is a fantastic chance for new players to get a feel for the team and even have a trial. Keep an eye on their Twitter and Facebook pages for the latest updates.
The club also puts a strong emphasis on developing young talent, offering cricket for boys and girls aged 5 and up through their AllStars, Dynamos, and various age-group teams. Junior nets take place on Wednesday nights at 6pm. Kids aged 5-11 can also join the ECB programmes directly for a fun introduction to the game.
Mickleover CC values community support and offers sponsorship opportunities for businesses. You can also grab some club-branded gear from their merchandise and kit shops.
The club's had a great season with standout wins and impressive performances. Chris Lees is the top run scorer with 591 runs, while Craig Heaton holds the highest individual score of 176. Varun Punnis has shone with an average of 99.5. Mickleover CC teams are proudly 5th in the Derbyshire County Cricket League and aim to keep climbing.
