Rehabilitation is a leading facility called “MidCoast Rehabilitation” located in Forster, providing effective and goal-oriented rehabilitation services. 1. Balance U: This is a falls prevention class specifically designed for senior clients at a high risk of falls due to frailty, decreased mobility, strength, and balance. It is also suitable for those recovering from a fall or a period of hospitalisation.
2. Stronger U: This class is ideal for independent senior clients who want to improve their strength, reconditioning, and balance.
3. Strength and Conditioning: Geared towards slightly younger patients recovering from injury or surgery, this class focuses on improving strength and fitness to enable a return to work or leisure activities. It is also beneficial for post-joint replacement patients.
4. Parkinsons Power: This class aids early diagnosed Parkinsons patients who are still able to move independently. Those with higher dependence levels can benefit from one-on-one treatments in the rehab gym. The class focuses on strategies and techniques to tackle freezing, rigidity, tremor, and postural stability issues associated with Parkinsons disease.
5. Cardiac Rehab: Only participants with a doctor referral are eligible for this class. Clients post-cardiac surgery, post-cardiac event, or with heart failure receive appropriate monitoring and progression during the class.
6. Respiratory Rehab: Like the Cardiac Rehab class, a doctors referral is required for enrolment. Participants with chronic pulmonary disease or post-acute illness are fully monitored during classes.
Classes at MidCoast Rehabilitation are covered by DVA, Workers Compensation, and Private Health Funds, with each session priced at $35. However, Medicare/EPCs cannot be used for class sessions and are limited to individual treatments.
