Midland Ski Club, established in 1965, is a ski resort located in Birmingham, offering a wide range of Alpine skiing activities for skiers of all ages in the Midlands and beyond. Whether you are a seasoned skier or a beginner looking to learn, Midland Ski Club provides regular race training on dry slopes, social functions, holidays, and training weeks on snow.
The club has recently moved its main website to the MyClubHouse system, which handles all news, holidays, bookings, and other pertinent information. The website also provides a user-friendly experience for members and potential members alike.
For those interested in joining the club, Midland Ski Club offers a taster programme at an affordable introductory price of 5 per session. Skiers must have the ability to ski in controlled link turns, stop, and safely use a drag lift. Additionally, skiers are required to wear outdoor long-sleeved attire, helmets, and gloves. Equipment hire is available if needed.
Taster sessions are available fortnightly at various locations, including Swadlincote and Ackers Adventure in Birmingham. However, please note that the club does not cater to beginners, snowboarders, or adaptive skiers. For those interested in classes catering to these groups, please contact the slope facilities directly.
Midland Ski Club offers dry slope training four evenings a week at different locations. The cost for most sessions is 18 for 1. 5 hours, while the Thursday evening FUNdamentals session costs 22 for 2 hours. Taster sessions remain at the affordable price of 5.
The club also has a few exciting events lined up for 2023, including the Gloucester Summer Race League, Chill Factore Training, the National Snow Show at the NEC, Club Championships in Swadlincote, the Winter Race Series at Ackers, and the John Arnold Training Week in Mayrhofen, among others.
