The charter takes place on the MV Rachel May, a 40ft GRP Procharter P4 boat, which is licenced and insured for 12 passengers and 2 crew members. Safety is a priority, and the boat is equipped with all the necessary safety equipment, including a 14-person liferaft and lifejackets for everyone on board. There is also a toilet available for the comfort of passengers.

Misty Angling Trips operates year-round, weather permitting, from Fraserburgh harbour. The charter offers a variety of fishing experiences, with a focus on wreck and reef fishing. Booking a trip with Misty Angling Trips is easy and convenient. The cost is 35 per person for a 4-hour trip, with children aged 8-13 charged at 20. Rod hire is available for an additional 10 per person, and it includes lures and weights. Replacement lures and weights are available for purchase if they are lost during the trip.

On the day of the trip, it is important to come prepared. The sea can be cold, even if it is warm in the harbour, so warm and waterproof clothing, as well as boots, are recommended. Layering is also advised to stay comfortable on the water. Passengers are encouraged to bring snacks and hot drinks to keep hunger at bay during the trip.

It is significant to note that alcohol is not allowed on board the MV Rachel May.

Passengers should arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled trip time and wait by the security entrance to the pontoon marina, where they will be greeted by Susan, who will collect payment for the trip. Any fish caught during the trip can be taken home, as long as they are of a legal size. If any undersized fish are caught, they should be safely returned to the sea.

The variety of fish usually caught during Misty Angling Trips includes Cod, Ling, Coley, Pollack, Scorpion fish, Cuckoo Wrasse, Ballan Wrasse, Dab, Sand eel, and Mackerel (when in season). Occasionally, passengers may also have the opportunity to catch Haddock, Whiting, Poor Cod, Pouting, Octopus, Gurnard, Flounder, Horse Mackerel, Bluemouth, Monkfish, Squid, and Velvet Crab.
