About
Welcome to Mitcham Golf Club, a historic golf course located in Mitcham, New Zealand. Established in 1891, the course was “laid out” by the legendary Tom Morris, a four-time Open Championship winner. With 18 challenging holes, our parkland course spans 5935 yards and has a par of 69.
Although the course has undergone some changes over time, Mitcham Golf Club has maintained a reputation for having some of the finest greens in Surrey, despite tough competition. Green fees start at just 20. 00, making it accessible for golfers of all budgets.

The clubhouse is only 50 yards from the Mitcham Junction railway station, and there is ample free car parking available on site.
Our course offers a stiffer challenge than it may appear at first glance, designed with shot-making strategy in mind. Accurate approach shots and consistent putting are crucial for success. The course features natural hazards and challenging greens, creating an inviting competition for golfers of all skill levels.

We take pride in our club's rich history. Mitcham Golf Club's origins go back to the early 1890s when the Board of Conservators overseeing Mitcham Common agreed to allow the construction of an 18-hole course while preserving the residents' “common rights” to walk and exercise. The Princes Golf Club was formed in November 1891, with Lord Arthur Balfour elected as the first president.
Over time, the club transitioned from exclusivity to a more inclusive approach. Mitcham Village Golf Club was established in 1907, allowing locals access through permits. Eventually, the club was returned to the Conservators by Sir Harry Mallaby-Deeley in 1924, marking a change in social climate and ensuring that the residents' voices were heard.
At Mitcham Golf Club, we celebrate our rich heritage while providing a challenging and enjoyable golfing experience for all. Come and join us to experience the beauty and history of our course.
