DESCRIPTION Mountain Raiders BMX is a renowned cycling park located in Auckland, specifically in East Auckland. The primary goal of Mountain Raiders BMX is to create a safe and welcoming environment where people of all ages can come together to participate in the exhilarating sport of BMX Racing. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, the club invites you to join them at their next ride and have an unforgettable time.

It is important to note that members must bring their own bikes, but the club offers full-face helmets and gloves for hire. The only requirements for riders are to wear long pants, a long sleeve shirt, and covered shoes to ensure safety during races and practises.

Membership with Mountain Raiders BMX is primarily available during summer, which runs from October to April. Members are also welcome to use the track during the winter months, as long as the track is dry and firm, and the “track closed” signs are not up.

Race nights at Mountain Raiders BMX are held on Fridays during summer. Registration opens from 5:15 pm to 5:45 pm, and the racing begins promptly at 6 pm. These race nights are suitable for all ages, starting from 2 years and up. The club wants to emphasise that BMX is not just for kids Mums and Dads are encouraged to race as well.

This is a great opportunity for families to come together and witness the excitement of BMX racing.

For those who prefer night races, Mountain Raiders BMX offers the option to activate floodlights. By entering their credit card details, riders can conveniently turn on the floodlights. The cost is $10 per hour, with a minimum charge of $10. Riders can gather their friends and share the cost, making it an affordable option for a thrilling night ride.

Coaching is also available at Mountain Raiders BMX. Their comprehensive coaching programme caters to riders of all levels, from beginners to experienced racers. The experienced coaches are dedicated to helping riders improve their skills, achieve their goals, and most importantly, have fun. Riders progress through different levels as they master new skills, enabling them to continually grow and excel in the sport.

Club Night Racing is a popular event at Mountain Raiders BMX. Held on Friday evenings during summer, riders are sorted into ability groups just before racing starts. This ensures fair and enjoyable races for all participants. Each rider gets the opportunity to compete in three races, with the possibility of an additional “unofficial” moto if time permits.

The club aims to finish the event by 7:30 pm, allowing the younger riders to return home early.
