Mount Albert Croquet Club

Welcome to Mount Albert Croquet Club, a small, and friendly croquet club located in Auckland. Whether you are an experienced player or new to the game, our club is open to players of all ages and abilities. We are always looking for new members to join our enthusiastic group of players.

If you want to give croquet a try, we invite you to join us on our open days held on the first Sunday of each month, starting at 2 pm. These open days are the perfect opportunity to experience the modern version of this classic lawn game, known as 'Golf Croquet'. All equipment is provided, and our friendly members will introduce you to the game with no obligation to join.

At Mount Albert Croquet Club, we focus on skill-building and playing the game in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Our club plays socially for fun, fitness, and relaxation, and also offers competitive play. We regularly participate in various competitions and tournaments hosted by other clubs in the greater Auckland region.

Our lawns are available to play on all year round. For Golf Croquet, we have competitive play on Saturdays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, social play on Sundays from 2 pm to 5 pm, and winter social play on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4:30 pm. During daylight saving time in summer, the Wednesday social play time is extended until 7 pm. Additionally, we offer Ricochet games on Thursdays from 10 am to 12 pm.

For those interested in hosting a social event, our clubhouse, and grounds are available for hire to small to medium-sized groups. Whether it's a Christmas party, birthday celebration, pre-wedding event, stag function, or any other occasion, we can provide a fun day or evening of croquet as part of your corporate or social club event. Our club members will show your guests how to play and create a competitive and enjoyable atmosphere. We have a marquee and BBQ available, and you are welcome to use the clubhouse, with tea and coffee included.

BYO drinks and food or arrange for caterers. We can accommodate up to 16 players at once, with an upper limit on group sizes of 25–30 persons. The hire fee is $20 per person.

We also have several upcoming events, including the Season Opening Day on Saturday, September 30th, with a shared lunch, and a Public 'Have-a-Go' Day on Sunday, October 1st, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Additionally, we have many tournaments scheduled, such as the Golden Grades Intermediate Singles on October 28th and 29th, the Thomas Rose Bowl Tournament on November 5th, and the Graded Champs Tournament for singles in grades 3 to 5 on November 11th and 12th.
