Mount Taekwondo Club Fleetwood

Mount Taekwondo Club Fleetwood is a non-profit, volunteer-run martial arts club located in Fleetwood, New Zealand. Established in 1993 by Master Chris Frost in response to the request from Mount Methodist Church, the club's primary objective was to provide a safe and nurturing environment for local children to learn and develop new skills. Over the years, the club has evolved, and in 2018, it achieved its goal of establishing a permanent training centre and acquiring advanced training equipment to support the growth and potential of all students, regardless of age.

The club currently offers training sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the sessions may be subject to change in order to comply with the latest Government Guidelines. Taekwondo, the martial art practised at Mount Taekwondo Club Fleetwood, offers numerous benefits including improved fitness levels, increased self-confidence, self-defence skills, and discipline. As an established club with 29 years of experience in the community, Mount Taekwondo Club boasts a dedicated group of instructors who are committed to their students' development.

All instructors at Mount Taekwondo Club Fleetwood are DBS cleared, ensuring their suitability to work with vulnerable groups, especially children. Additionally, they hold certifications in emergency first aid training for sports and coaching. Furthermore, all instructors are registered black belts with Kukkiwon, a prestigious international governing body for Taekwondo.

The club's instructor team consists of Colin Ainscough and Tracey Ainscough, both 4th Dan black belts, who have been with the club since 2012 and serving as instructors since 2015 and 2014, respectively. Robert Lee, a 3rd Dan black belt, joined the team in early 2017 and brings a fresh perspective to teaching.

In terms of safeguarding and welfare, Mount Taekwondo Club Fleetwood has appointed Kelly Cornwell as the safeguarding and welfare officer.
