Movement with Lauren is a Pilates studio located in the vibrant city of Brighton, New Zealand. Founded by Lauren, a certified Comprehensive Pilates teacher, the studio aims to provide a space for mindful movement that supports both mental and physical health.
Lauren's own Pilates journey began while she was recovering from a knee injury, and she experienced firsthand the positive impact that Pilates had on her recovery. Following a diagnosis of Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2018, Lauren used Pilates as a way to rebuild her strength restoratively after undergoing chemotherapy. This personal experience inspired her to pursue teacher training and become a Pilates instructor, with a focus on helping and empowering others who are recovering from illness, injury, and chronic pain.
With a deep understanding of the potential healing power of Pilates, Lauren is passionate about creating a supportive and nurturing environment within her classes. She believes in the importance of noticing how you're feeling, relieving tension, awakening tired muscles, and focusing on breath work to enhance presence and mindfulness. By finding exercises that clients love and enjoy, Lauren aims to make movement a positive and enjoyable part of their routine.
At Movement with Lauren, clients can expect to strengthen their bodies to relieve chronic tension, achieve core strength through breath and movement, improve posture and flexibility, and gain a deeper understanding of their bodies. Classes are well-structured with a nice flow, offering plenty of variety, ensuring that no two classes are the same. Lauren's teaching style is kind, caring, and encouraging, and she is skilled at pushing clients to their potential while being mindful of their needs and limitations.
