About
way to support the community and ensure the continued upkeep of Nagaya Beach.
Nagaya Beach, located in Kilworthy, is a beloved swimming spot for both North Kahshe cottagers and residents. Owned by the KLRA and the Town of Gravenhurst, with the KLRA leasing a section from the Town, this picturesque beach is maintained by the dedicated Nagaya Beach Committee. They ensure that the beach is clean and safe for all visitors, providing amenities such as portable toilets and a swimming raft.
Every August, the beach comes alive with the KLRA Annual Regatta, a day full of fun events for the Kahshe community. From swimming and running races to volleyball tournaments and water balloon toss events, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The day is topped off with a popular BBQ that brings everyone together in celebration.
A historical feature of Nagaya Beach is the pump still standing at the west end, which was once the water source for nearby cottages. The beach holds a special place in the hearts of those who visit, offering not only a place to swim and relax but also a sense of community and togetherness.
