Welcome to Nairn St Ninian Bowling Club, a family-friendly club located in the heart of Nairn next to the museum. Established in May 1961, our club has served the community of Nairn for many years. We welcome players of all ages and abilities to come and try their hand at bowls. All you need is a flat pair of shoes, as we provide everything else you require.
At Nairn St Ninian Bowling Club, we pride ourselves in offering free lessons for beginners and anyone looking to improve their game. These lessons can be arranged with our qualified instructor. We believe in providing a welcoming and supportive environment for all who wish to play bowls.
Throughout the year, our club holds competitions that are open to anyone. We also participate in friendly and competitive games with other clubs. These events provide the opportunity to meet fellow bowlers and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with the sport.
Our clubhouse is currently undergoing a makeover, with a fresh lick of paint, lockers fitted, and new tables on order. We are also actively seeking grants to update other areas of the clubhouse. In the near future, we will be hosting social nights, ensuring that all members have the opportunity to socialise and forge new friendships both on and off the green.
Speaking of the green, ours is surrounded by beautiful shrubs, creating a picturesque setting for a game of bowls. The green runs well and is meticulously maintained by our dedicated members. We offer private lessons and group workshops for all members, tailored to individual needs and experience levels.
For visitors to the area, we offer daily rates of 3 per session or 10 per week to use our facilities. Membership runs from April to September and has an annual fee of 40. We also have junior and disability memberships available for 10. Throughout the year, there are additional fees for competitions.
At Nairn St Ninian Bowling Club, we understand the importance of a vibrant social life. Our social convenor organises a variety of events, including games nights, BBQs, bingo, whist, and race nights. These events are attended not only by our club members but also by members of other clubs. We aim to foster a sense of community and ensure that our members have a fulfilling social experience.
Bowling is truly a sport for all ages, allowing families and friends to bond and spend quality time together. Lawn bowls provides the opportunity for both physical exercise and social interaction, leading to a longer and healthier life. The sport can bring together multiple generations within one family, creating lasting memories and a shared goal.
In recent news, we would like to congratulate Joanne Whittlestone, Charlotte McInnes, and Alex McInnes for winning a bronze medal at the national finals in Ayr. They played exceptionally well and deserved their success. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce that our club will be opening for the start of the season on April 15th at 1PM. After a long break from outdoor bowls, we look forward to seeing as many people as possible in attendance.
Come and experience the joy of bowls at Nairn St Ninian Bowling Club. Join our friendly family club and discover a sport that provides both physical activity and a strong sense of community.
