The Nanaimo Buccaneers Hockey Club is gearing up for an exciting season ahead and is on the lookout for families in Nanaimo willing to open their doors to players joining the community from Western Canada. Becoming a host family for a player is a fantastic way to get involved with the club and support these athletes as they chase their hockey dreams.
Host families play a key role in providing a welcoming and nurturing environment for the players both on and off the ice. By offering a private bedroom, nutritious meals, and a caring atmosphere, host families help the players feel at home in Nanaimo. In return for your hospitality, host families will receive a monthly payment from each player, season tickets for the entire family, and invitations to team events throughout the season.
The housing period kicks off on August 19th, when players arrive for Main Camp, and continues until the end of the season, which could run until April. Rest assured, the coaching staff will take into account players' interests and personalities when matching them with host families to ensure a harmonious living arrangement.
This program isn't just about recruiting talented hockey players; it's also about nurturing good character and personal growth in the players. If you're interested in becoming a host family or would like more details about the program, please reach out to the Nanaimo Buccaneers Hockey Club. Let's come together as a community to support these players and make this hockey season a memorable one!
