The NARRABRI & DISTRICT PONY CLUB, located in Narrabri, New South Wales, Australia, is a fantastic club that offers plenty of opportunities for horse riding enthusiasts. One of their most exciting events is the Rally Days, which take place on the 1st Sunday of every month, including some school holidays.
During the Rally Days, riders can take part in various activities, ranging from jumping and sporting to show riding, dressage, troop drill, cross country, polocrosse, and horse care. It's all about having fun and expanding your horsemanship skills in a supportive and instructional environment.
To participate in these exciting Rally Days, riders need to be active members of the Pony Club Association of NSW and be accompanied by a responsible adult. Only Pony Club riding members are allowed to ride at the rallies, and there is even an age range for senior riding members, which is between 25 years and under 80 years.
It's important to note that riders are not allowed to ride other members' horses without proper permission. So, let's remember to respect each other's horses and make sure we ask for consent accordingly.
On the Rally Day itself, the schedule usually runs from approximately 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are 2–3 sessions in the morning, a break for morning tea, and lunch around 12:30 pm. After lunch, there is typically one more session to look forward to. However, please keep in mind that these times are subject to change.
Once the rally comes to an end, all parents, and riders are expected to lend a helping hand in packing up the equipment. Remember, teamwork makes the dream work!
Before the sessions start, riders must present themselves for gear check at 8:45 am. This check ensures that all safety requirements are met, and everyone is ready for a fantastic day of riding.
Throughout the day, it's important to stick with your allocated group and walk your horse between lessons. This helps maintain order and ensures that everyone enjoys their experience to the fullest.
