The Melbourne Women's Walking Club is thrilled to offer newcomers the chance to experience bushwalking on a specially curated Newcomers' walk. Scheduled for Sunday 18th February 2024, this event will showcase the beauty of the Toolangi State Forest. With towering Mountain Ash trees, Myrtles, and Blackwood creating a picturesque backdrop, participants will meander through well-maintained tracks, including a tranquil section of lush rainforest. This easy-moderate walk will span approximately 3.5 hours, catering to women with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy outdoor pursuits.
To ensure a comfortable outing, attendees are reminded to pack essentials for changing weather conditions. A warm jumper, rain jacket, lunch, snacks, 2 litres of water, and durable footwear are recommended. In the event of excessively hot weather, the walk will be postponed for the safety and well-being of all involved.
For those seeking transportation arrangements, carpooling options will be coordinated for convenience, with participants advised to have ample funds for expenses.
If you're keen to participate in the Newcomers' walk and have yet to sign up as a prospective member, kindly reach out to Lidia Nowak via email at [email protected] by Tuesday, February 13th. Lidia will furnish you with essential details about the club and the upcoming event.
Please bear in mind that joining the Newcomers' walk is not obligatory. Should you prefer to gather information about the club and explore other walks, simply get in touch with Lidia Nowak. You're encouraged to partake in any easier walks, barring the Medium-Hard (MH) or Hard (H) level walks initially, unless you boast prior experience as a bushwalker.
