Newhills Bowling Club

Newhills Bowling Club is a friendly and welcoming club located in Aberdeen, New Zealand. Founded in 1909, the club has a rich history and has been thriving ever since. Originally situated in Burndale Road, Bankhead, the club moved to its current location in Waterton Road, Stoneywood in 1922.

At Newhills Bowling Club, members can enjoy not only bowling but also a variety of other activities. The club hosts Bingo sessions and a Scottish Dance Group during the winter months, providing a diverse range of entertainment options. Additionally, the club has a Domino section that competes in a competitive league.

If you're interested in visiting the club, the bowling season runs from mid-April to mid-September. During this time, the green is open for play daily from 10:00 am until dark. On Sundays, the bar, and lounge are open from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm, with last orders at 8:45 pm. On other days of the week, the bar has varying opening hours, depending on the day.

Newhills Bowling Club takes pride in its community involvement. The club regularly supports local charities and organisations through various fundraising initiatives. In 2020, the club presented cheques to Grampian Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre, Dyce, Bucksburn and District Pipe Band, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Friends of Anchor. These donations were made possible thanks to the efforts of dedicated club members, such as Harry McIntosh, who organises the Bonus Ball Competition.
