At Newport Skate Park, known locally as Carve Wicked, Mike has overseen the creation of a top-tier facility in Tredegar Park, Newport. With input from youthful skaters, the park boasts features for all styles and skill levels, including a bowl section, street section, peanut bowl, and bike jump.
Parents bringing younger children are advised to supervise their kids due to peak usage times, but quieter periods on weekend mornings might be ideal for the little ones.
Divided for safety, the Street section welcomes scooter users, skateboarders, and BMX riders aged 5–8 years old with adult oversight. Skaters 9 years and above, who are competent, can enjoy the mini bowl, main bowl, and bike run. BMX riders should note that pegs are not permitted in these areas. The peanut bowl is strictly for expert use.
Open daily from 9:00am to 9:00pm, the park operates within Tredegar Park’s varying hours, with gates closing at dusk. Though vehicles can’t enter or exit post-dusk, the skate park remains accessible on foot until closing time.
Users skate at their own risk and must follow the guidelines set by Newport City Council. For any concerns, contact Tredegar Park, Cardiff Road, Newport, or reach out to the Council.
Mike’s Newport Skate Park has become a hotspot for skaters of all ages and expertise. With its array of features, whether you’re just starting or chasing new challenges, the park offers the perfect venue to push your limits.
