Mordialloc Life Saving Club presents Nippers, the ultimate beach education program for children aged 5 to 13 years. Nestled in the beautiful coastal city of Melbourne, this program aims to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for kids to learn about lifesaving and have a whale of a time!
Throughout summer, the Mordialloc LSC hosts this fantastic initiative, where children can dip their toes into an array of fun-filled activities at the beach. Our focus is on ensuring that each child has a positive experience while gaining valuable knowledge. We believe that learning should be a blast, and that's exactly what Nippers offers!
As kids progress through each age group, they will engage in activities specifically designed to enhance vital skills. From understanding beach safety to mastering lifesaving techniques, every step of the program contributes to their growth and development. But wait, there's more! Nippers also welcomes the incredible 'Nipper Parents' to join in the fun. Parents can participate by teaching beach activities or even pursuing their own milestones, such as completing Age Managers, Water Safety, Technical Officials Award, or even the prestigious Bronze Medallion. We firmly believe in involving parents actively, allowing them to engage with their child's sport in a truly meaningful way.
As part of the program, we also organise Surf Education Awards and Nipper Competitions. These events bring together our Nippers community, inspiring friendly competition and fostering a sense of camaraderie. It's all about teamwork, empowerment, and building memories that will last a lifetime.
To ensure the smooth running of Nippers, parental involvement is vital. We encourage parents to step up and take on roles such as Age Managers and Water Safety Officers. Don't worry if you're new to this – we provide comprehensive training, empowering you to make a difference. It's an incredible opportunity to actively participate in your child's sport, creating memories together.
Additionally, parents are expected to lend a hand when their child's age group is rostered on for duties. These duties may include beach set up, pack up, and even cooking up a storm on the BBQ to feed our hungry nippers. It's an excellent chance to meet other parents and be an integral part of our close-knit Nippers community.
When registering your child, please ensure that you hold a voluntary Working with Children's Check. If you already have one, we kindly request you to provide the details to us. The safety and well-being of all participants are our utmost priority, and this ensures a secure and nurturing environment for everyone involved.
