Niruthyothaya School of Dance, located in Wentworthville, NSW, is ae dance school offering Bharathanatyam Dance Classes, specialising in Indian Classical dance. The school is founded and directed by Mrs. Ajanthini Carthigeyan, a highly accomplished Bharathanatyam dancer, teacher, and choreographer.

Mrs. Ajanthini Carthigeyan is a first-generation Bharathanatyam dancer in her family and was inspired by her father, S Rajasegaram. She began her dance journey at the young age of five under the guidance of Guru Thommai Kutti and “Kalakeerthi” Shanthini Shivanesan. Ajanthini's passion and dedication to Bharathanatyam led her to achieve numerous high honours in the field.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Bharathanatyam from the University of Jaffna, earning a first-class distinction. Additionally, she completed her first-year external master's degree at the University of Madras, which led to her appointment as a permanent lecturer by The University of Jaffna. Ajanthini's exceptional talent and skill have been recognised with awards such as the “Kalavithakar” from the North Ceylon Oriental Music Society and 1st place in a dance competition conducted by The Hindu Cultural Ministry of Sri Lanka.

In addition to her expertise in Bharathanatyam, Ajanthini has also explored other cultural interests. She studied Carnatic Vocal under Guru Inuvill Ramanathan Iyer, and Miruthangam under S. Mahendran. Her diverse training and experiences have contributed to her unique teaching style and choreography.

At Niruthyothaya School of Dance, students receive comprehensive training in Bharathanatyam, with a focus on both technical proficiency and artistic expression. The school aims to not only impart dance skills but also instil a deep appreciation for Indian classical arts and culture. Students are prepared for Australian Carnatic Music Association Exams, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their talent and receive formal recognition.
