North Cheshire Bowmen, an archery club located at Knutsford Sports Club, is excited to offer archery courses during winter. These courses, which last for 6 weeks, provide participants with the opportunity to learn and practice archery skills. Whether you're a beginner or have some prior experience, these courses are designed to cater to all skill levels.
The club understands that life can be busy and participants may not be able to attend all the sessions. That's why they are flexible and offer additional sessions to ensure everyone receives full training. Rest assured that the club is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
Although the upcoming winter courses are currently fully booked, interested individuals can still get involved. They can contact the club to be added to the waiting list for the next set of courses, which will begin in September and continue beyond. There is no age limit for participants, and parents or guardians are encouraged to attend for safety and support.
The cost for each beginners course is £65 per person. However, if two adults from the same family enrol, any accompanying children are charged a nominal fee of £15. North Cheshire Bowmen aims to make archery accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Upon completion of the beginners course, participants are invited to apply for membership at North Cheshire Bowmen. This membership affiliation grants individuals access to Archery GB, allowing them to participate in competitions throughout the country and enjoy the benefits of Archery GB membership. Alternatively, participants can also join Archery GB directly or apply to other clubs, using their completion of the North Cheshire Bowmen course as a sufficient qualification, depending on the club's policy.
The courses are led by a qualified L1 coach, who ensures that participants receive proper guidance and support. Additional helpers are also present at each shooting point, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
The Saturday courses cater to around 12 trainees and utilise all 6 shooting points in the range. These courses run from 9am to 11am, with the first week dedicated to paperwork. On Wednesdays, the courses are smaller, accommodating 6–9 trainees, and are led by three individuals, one of whom is an L1 coach. On Wednesdays, the club uses 2 shooting points to allow regular archers to continue practising. These courses run from 7pm to 9pm, with the first week reserved for paperwork.
To join the waiting list for the courses, interested individuals can visit the Contact Us page on the North Cheshire Bowmen website. They can also download the application form in Word or PDF format and submit it via email. The club accepts payment via BACS, and interested individuals can simply email the completed form as well. For more information and assistance, individuals can contact the club directly. North Cheshire Bowmen is eagerly awaiting your interest and looks forward to hearing from you soon!
