North Calcutta Football Academy

Nestled in the heart of Kolkata, North Calcutta Football Academy (NCFA) stands as a beacon of hope and aspiration for young footballers aiming to make their mark on a global stage. Guided by the mission "India playing World Cup," NCFA seeks to spread its wings across all states of India, providing young talents with state-of-the-art facilities for scientific screening, development, and promotion of football. Affiliated with the Indian Football Association (IFA), the academy exemplifies commitment by conducting football camps year-round at Deshbandhu Park and hosting residential camps in different districts annually.

The origins of NCFA trace back to the 1980s, born from the passion and vision of ex-footballers from North Kolkata who dreamt of uplifting Indian football. With the tireless efforts of the late Pashupati Bhattacharjee, fondly known as "Lentu da," and his dedicated team, the academy officially took shape in 1990. Initially starting with just a handful of young enthusiasts, the academy has today blossomed into a nurturing ground for football excellence, continually supported by notable patrons such as Mr. Ashok Ghosh and Mr. Kamal Kumar Basu, among others.

NCFA stands out for its comprehensive approach to player development. Regular sports medicine clinics ensure the physical well-being of its trainees, while the provision of nutritious food helps them maintain peak performance. The academy also emphasizes the importance of exposure and experience, organizing celebrity football matches in collaboration with international teams, notably through Indo-German partnerships. This unique blend of local training and global exposure equips young athletes with the necessary skills and confidence to excel.

The academy has created a familial environment where coaches, many of whom are renowned in the football community, work tirelessly to hone the skills of the young players. The presence of an advisory and technical committee, comprising esteemed professionals and former referees, underscores the academy's steadfast dedication to nurturing talent holistically.
