Skills. These classes are designed for children aged between 4 and 7 years old. Junior classes are aimed at children aged between 8 and 12 years old and last for 45 minutes to an hour. Adult classes are available for those aged 13 and above and provide a full hour of intense training, incorporating cardio, strength, and self-defence techniques.
The Northgate and Associated Karate Clubs in Ipswich are run by a team of qualified and experienced instructors who are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals. Led by Sensei Bill Williams, a 5th Dan black belt with over 40 years of Karate experience, the club offers a friendly and supportive atmosphere for students of all ages and abilities.
Sensei Gerry Turner, a 5th Dan black belt, is a senior lead instructor who brings technical proficiency and fitness expertise to the club. Sensei Chris Stott, a 1st Dan black belt, specialises in Kata and Kumite training and also serves as the Club's Child Protection & Safeguarding Officer. Sensei Matt Standring, a 1st Dan black belt, is a lead instructor and fitness specialist. Sensei Alex McKay, a 1st Dan black belt, recently joined the teaching team and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
In addition to the instructors, Steve Holland, a 1st Kyu brown belt, serves as a lead instructor and is also involved in club administration and IT support. Kasia Lewandowska, a 1st Kyu brown belt, is a Red Dragons instructor, focusing on teaching younger children the basics of Karate in a fun and engaging way.
