North Mymms Bowls Club

Located in Hatfield, North Mymms Bowls Club is a small and friendly club that attracts members from Welham Green, Brookmans Park, Potters Bar, and the surrounding areas of Hertfordshire. With a successful year in 2022, the club has welcomed several new members who have thoroughly enjoyed their bowling experience.

The club offers coaching to help new members get started and improve their skills. With a bit of practise, members can get out on the green, enjoy friendly games of bowls, and make new friends. Bowling provides a wonderful opportunity to engage in an enjoyable game, get fresh air, and build a great social life. It is a sport that is inclusive and can be enjoyed by individuals of all ages, sexes, and physical abilities.

Learning the game of bowls is not difficult, and with regular practise, members can participate in friendly “roll-ups” or matches against other clubs. After a game, members can join their fellow bowlers outside the clubhouse for a drink and relaxation. For those who are interested in a more competitive experience, there are opportunities to participate in club competitions as well as those organised by the St Albans & District Bowing Associations and Herts County.

North Mymms Bowls Club encourages anyone who is curious about the game to contact them and come along for a free trial. All that is required is a pair of flat-soled shoes. The club provides the necessary equipment and has qualified coaches available to teach newcomers. To further encourage new bowlers to join, the club offers a special discounted first-year subscription fee of only 10.

The club's green is open from the end of April, and they host an Open Day on Sunday, May 28th, where individuals can come and try the game with no obligations. Those who are unable to attend the Open Day are still welcome to get in touch with the club's Membership Secretary, Val Atkinson, to arrange a visit.
