Access to the Norwest SS4 Soccer Field in Calgary, players and parents must register for the upcoming season. Registration will open on February 5th, 2024, with Silver Springs residents requiring a 2023/2024 SSCA Membership and Scenic Acres residents needing a 2023/2024 SACA Membership.
Norwest SS4 Soccer Field is operated by Silver Springs Soccer, a community-run soccer organization catering to children living in Silver Springs and Scenic Acres. The program relies on volunteers to coach teams, organize age groups, and assist with equipment sorting. Parents are encouraged to consider volunteering opportunities before registering their children.
The soccer field offers various age groups for children to participate in, with practice days, game times, and prices varying depending on the age group. From U4 to U10/12 Boys and Girls, teams are divided based on the year of birth, ensuring a competitive and engaging soccer experience for all participants.
Apart from soccer activities, Silver Springs Community Association hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including try softball days, speaker series on gardening, annual general meetings, community clean-ups, and seasonal celebrations like Hello Summer BBQ and Christmas Market. The association's vision is to make Silver Springs the community of choice in Calgary by providing facilities, programs, and leadership to foster community spirit.
In light of COVID-19, Silver Springs Community Association prioritizes the health and safety of staff, visitors, and community members. All individuals entering the building are required to wear a face mask according to municipal and provincial health orders.
