Ojika NI Dojo

Ojika NI Dojo, located in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is a registered club with the British Kendo Association and has been offering Kendo training since February 2012. Founded by Dojo Leader John Kelso, who holds a 3rd Dan Kendo ranking, the club was established to provide individuals in Northern Ireland the opportunity to practise Kendo, a Japanese sword martial art, within their home country.

Since its inception, Ojika NI Dojo has grown significantly, attracting numerous full-time members who actively participate in regular training sessions. Many of these members have achieved Dan levels or ranks, demonstrating their dedication and skill in the art. Ojika NI Dojo also stands out among Kendo clubs in the UK for introducing Children's Kendo as a key component of their weekly training programme, making the club accessible to aspiring young martial artists.

Looking towards the future, Ojika NI Dojo aims to expand its offerings by introducing Iaido and Jodo into its training schedule for the first time in late April 2018. By embracing these additional martial arts disciplines, the club further enhances the training opportunities and experiences available to its members.
