The Okanagan Combat Guild is the top school for Historical European Swordsmanship in Kelowna. Founded by Adam Ritz, the Head Instructor, the Guild offers classes in Renaissance Europes fencing schools, focusing on weapons such as the rapier, dussack, and two-handed longsword. HEMA, which stands for Historical European Martial Arts, is the foundation of our community, where enthusiasts work together to revive the lost martial arts of Medieval and Renaissance Europe.
As the seasons change, the OCG location may vary, but our commitment to training and excellence remains constant. Currently, students can find us at Studio 9 for various classes throughout the week. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, there is a class that suits your skill level. Our schedule is designed to accommodate a range of students, so everyone can find their place in our training sessions.
Head Instructor Adam Ritz brings years of experience to the Guild, having studied HEMA since 2012. Under his leadership, the OCG has grown and thrived, offering a welcoming environment for students to learn and grow in their swordsmanship skills. Adams dedication to improving his interpretations of the source material, personal training, and mentorship of his students ensures that the Okanagan Combat Guild is a place where martial arts enthusiasts can thrive.
