Okotoks Skating Club (OSC)

The Okotoks Skating Club (OSC) is a well-established not-for-profit organization based in Okotoks, Alberta, Canada. Proudly operating as a Skate Canada sanctioned club for over 50 years, OSC has been dedicated to coaching athletes of all ages in the Foothills region of Alberta. With a rapidly growing membership base and a strong volunteer presence, OSC offers a safe and enjoyable environment for skaters to develop their skills.

The coaching team at OSC consists of dedicated Skate Canada Professional Coaches with NCCP training and certification. Many of our coaches are former skaters of OSC, bringing a wealth of experience and passion to their coaching approach. The club's mission is to provide a team coaching approach in a positive and energetic atmosphere, aiming to inspire all members to achieve their personal highest level of performance within the sport of skating.

OSC offers a variety of programs catering to skaters of all levels. The CanSkate program, designed for beginners of any age, focuses on teaching fundamental movements and basic skills. For hockey and ringette players looking to enhance their skating abilities, the PowerSkate program offers training on skating technique through balance, control, and agility skills. The STARSkate program provides opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in areas such as skills, freeskate, ice dance, and artistic.

As a member of Skate Canada, OSC is committed to following their guidelines to provide a well-balanced program to skaters of all ages. The club also offers funding assistance to qualified participants who may be unable to afford participation fees. OSC strives to be inclusive and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn and grow through skating.
