Old Basing Archers

Old Basing Archers, located in Basingstoke, Hampshire, is a welcoming and friendly archery club with a range situated at the recreation ground in Old Basing. Established in 1967, the club is owned and managed by Old Basing Archers Ltd, a company limited by guarantee.

Old Basing Archers prides itself on encompassing archers of all abilities, ranging from novice to county level, and catering to all age groups, from juniors to veterans. The club also accommodates various disciplines, including barebow, compound, longbow, and recurve, ensuring there is something for everyone.

During the summer months, the club holds shooting sessions on weekend mornings, as well as some weekday mornings and evenings to provide flexibility for its members. Additionally, Old Basing Archers organises several all-day shoots exclusively for its club members, including the highly popular Siege Shoot held in September. Winter months see the club transitioning to weekly indoor shooting sessions at the village hall and Hampshire Court Hotel, supplemented by outdoor shoots on weekends and weekdays at the recreation ground. The club actively participates in the British Archer winter postal competitions, showcasing its competitive spirit.

Promoting a family-oriented atmosphere, Old Basing Archers offers special membership rates for juniors and family groups, encouraging archery as a shared activity among loved ones. The club also runs courses throughout the spring and summer for individuals who are new to the sport, providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in archery. Completion of one of these beginners' courses makes archers eligible to join Archery GB, which includes vital insurance coverage required for shooting at any affiliated archery club.
