Welcome to Olivers Lake Fishing Club, located in Witham, New Zealand. Olivers Lake is a part of the Colchester Angling Preservation Society Ltd (CAPS), which has been providing angling opportunities in Essex since 1921. CAPS aims to offer its members a wide range of fishing options by improving existing fisheries and acquiring new waters.
At Olivers Lake, members can enjoy fishing in a beautiful and serene environment at an affordable cost. The club has made continuous efforts to enhance its waters, including fish stocking, swim building, and the installation of Otter fencing to protect the fisheries. With 15 stillwaters covering over 80 acres, more than 12 miles of the Chelmer & Blackwater Canal, and access to stretches of the River Stour, there is a fishing opportunity for everyone.
The waters at Olivers Lake are home to a variety of fish species, including Carp weighing over 40lb, Tench over 12lb, Chub over 6lb, Pike, Roach, Bream, and other silver fish. Whether you are a passionate Carp angler aiming for a personal best or a pleasure angler looking for a relaxing day out, Olivers Lake has something for you. Night fishing is allowed on most of the venues, providing additional opportunities for members.
In addition to Olivers Lake, the CAPS club offers access to 14 other stillwaters and stretches of rivers, providing a diverse fishing experience throughout the year. Safety is of utmost importance, and members are advised to be mindful of their well-being while enjoying this active outdoor activity.
