Welcome to Williamstown Open Water Swim Coaching, the local swimming club that offers a range of classes and swim groups for swimmers of all levels. Nestled in the beautiful Port Phillip Bay, our club provides a fantastic opportunity to experience open water swimming and receive expert coaching.
One of our most sought-after classes is the Challenge Yourself group, which takes place every Saturday at 8am. Designed for swimmers looking to push their limits, this class focuses on developing essential open water skills such as breathing techniques, efficient stroking, and swimming in a small group. You'll also learn the art of sighting and maintaining a high body position while enjoying the breathtaking views at Williamstown Beach.
For those who prefer a more relaxed swim, our Swim Around the Yellow Poles group is the perfect option. Held on Saturdays at 9am, this group allows swimmers to set their own pace and distance, swimming a 700m course. Since 2015, this group has been a favourite among our members, providing a great opportunity to enjoy a leisurely swim in the open water.
If you're looking for personalised attention, we offer private 1-1 or 2–1 lessons on Thursdays. Our experienced coaches will provide the guidance and support needed to improve your technique and reach your swimming goals. Additionally, we have a Pool Training Squad for Everyone at VU Aquatic on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7.30pm, perfect for those who prefer pool-based training.
To ensure everyone can participate, we offer wetsuit hire for our classes and swim groups. We're also proud to offer affordable new wetsuits for sale, making it even easier for you to enjoy open water swimming comfortably.
At Williamstown Open Water Swim Coaching, we prioritise the safety and well-being of our swimmers. We take into account EPA guidance, weather forecasts and reports, and warnings when scheduling our groups, events, and lessons. While wetsuits are not mandatory, we have a collection of old wetsuits available for hire, allowing you to stay warm and protected during your swim.
As a club, we are committed to minimising waste and being environmentally conscious. We actively recycle, reuse, repair, and share neoprene wetsuits to reduce our impact on the environment.
