Birthplace of Ashtanga Yoga, to study with my teacher, R. Sharath Jois. This experience deepened my understanding of the practise and ignited a passion for sharing it with others.
Upon returning to Australia, I opened Open House Yoga in Bayswater, a space dedicated to the exploration and practise of yoga in all its forms. At Open House, we believe that yoga is more than just physical exercise; it is a complete system that encompasses all aspects of life. Our classes are designed to not only strengthen and stretch the body but also to cultivate mindfulness, curiosity, and a sense of connexion.
Our teachers are experienced and knowledgeable in a variety of yoga styles and lineages. They bring their unique backgrounds and perspectives to each class, creating a diverse and inclusive environment for students of all levels. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced practitioner, you will find a class that suits your needs and interests at Open House Yoga.
Our studio space is warm, inviting, and thoughtfully designed to provide a peaceful and nurturing atmosphere. Our intimate cosy shala is nestled in our garden, just a few minutes away from our old Maylands studio. We have created a space where students can feel safe and supported as they explore and deepen their yoga practise.
In addition to our regular classes, we also offer a comprehensive and heart-driven yoga teacher training programme called Heart of Yoga – 350YTT. This programme is designed for aspiring teachers who want to create authentic and welcoming spaces for their students. We believe that teaching yoga is a privilege and a responsibility, and we strive to provide our teacher trainees with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to become skilled and receptive teachers.
At Open House Yoga, we are committed to making yoga accessible and inclusive. We respect and celebrate the unique qualities and experiences of each individual, while also embracing the truth of oneness. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we are on, the Nyoongar Whadjuk people, and we are grateful for the opportunity to practise and share yoga in this beautiful country.
Join us at Open House Yoga and experience the transformative power of yoga for yourself. Whether you are seeking physical strength, mental clarity, emotional healing, or spiritual growth, we are here to support and guide you on your journey. Come as you are, with an open mind and an open heart, and let the practise of yoga illuminate your path.
