At Oriental Yoga – Southport, our focus is on providing traditional Hatha Yoga classes that incorporate various styles such as Dynamic, Vinyasa, and Yin calming. Our founder, Simon Rowe, is a recognised Senior Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance Professionals and has received training in Varkala, Kerala, South India. During our classes in Birkdale, Southport and West Derby, Liverpool, Simon also incorporates aspects of Chinese Qi Gong stretching to help heal the body, calm the mind, and build internal core strength with regular attendance.
In our classes, we teach all aspects of Hatha Yoga, including sun salutations, pranayama breathing practises, yoga postures, deep stretching routines, balancing exercises, joint opening for hips and shoulders, inversions, spinal work, and relaxation sequences. Through regular practise, our students can expect to experience improvements in breathing, flexibility, mobility, balance, and a sense of overall wellbeing.
Our classes at West Derby, Liverpool and Birkdale, Southport are rolling monthly courses with a monthly cost of 28, ensuring that we can provide proper and safe instruction. Most general aches and pains and stiffness will improve over the course of yoga, and with regular attendance, the body will gradually open up, and the mind will settle. Simon Rowe is a registered member of the Independent Yoga Network (IYN) and has been awarded Senior Yoga Teacher status with the Yoga Alliance Professionals after years of providing instruction to thousands of students. He teaches traditional Hatha Yoga for health and healing in Birkdale, Southport.
Our classes are held at the Cornerstone Centre in West Derby Village, Liverpool, and at The School House on Walmer Rd in Birkdale, Southport. We cater to beginners, those with general level abilities, and intermediate practitioners requiring a more dynamic Hatha style of class. Each week, our classes have a different emphasis, covering various aspects such as balancing, twisting, inversions, spinal work, hips and shoulders, flexibility, breathwork, relaxation, and meditation.
