Situated within the expansive Robelle Domain parklands, this public swimming pool has a range of shallow pools and water features that cater to all age groups.

The interconnected pools at Orion Lagoon are designed for both young children and proficient swimmers, with depths ranging from 0. 3 metres to 1. 5 metres. Some sections of the pools have a gently graded edge, creating a beach-like effect.

The lagoon also features aquativity features such as squirting spouts and stepping-stones, adding an element of fun and excitement to the swimming experience.

Orion Lagoon operates on a seasonal schedule, with extended opening hours during the summer months (September to April) and reduced hours during winter (April to August). The pool is open seven days a week, with early morning opening times during summer. It's worth noting that children under 13 must be actively supervised by an adult at all times, and security is present on-site 24/7.

Visitors to Orion Lagoon can make use of the provided lockers for their belongings, and there are also flotation devices, swimwear, and pool accessories available for purchase. Shade is provided by vibrant sails and trees over the grassed areas, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable environment for swimmers and spectators. It's important to note that the Orion Lagoon area is not bookable, and personal BBQs are not permitted. The lagoon is an alcohol and smoke-free area, and dogs are strictly forbidden. School groups are encouraged to contact Ipswich City Council in advance to ensure sufficient lifeguards are available.
