Otago Equestrian Centre

Megan Henderson, the organiser at the Otago Equestrian Centre in Mosgiel, wants to remind everyone about the fantastic facilities available for equestrian enthusiasts in the region. The centre has well-maintained arenas and a variety of amenities, making it a hotspot for horse lovers of all ages and disciplines.

There are two arenas, Side A and Side B, which can be hired online through the centre's booking system. You can secure your preferred time slot up to two weeks in advance. But remember, once a booking is made, it can't be deleted within four hours of the scheduled time, and you'll be responsible for the full payment even if you don’t use the facility.

To ensure everyone has a good time, only one rider is allowed on each side of the arena unless it’s a group or exclusive hire. If you have a shared booking, it’s best to inform the course instructor to avoid any issues. And for those who want to do some jumping, make sure to book the entire arena for exclusive use.

Membership at the Otago Equestrian Centre comes with benefits like discounted rates for arena hire. To join, just fill out a membership form and pay the membership fee. Membership categories include Life Membership for individuals 18 and above at $720, Senior Membership for $120, and Junior Membership for $72. There’s also a Family Membership package for $180, covering two adults and two children under 18. If you need a new key, it’s $20, with a $10 refundable deposit upon return.
