Welcome to Owairaka Athletics, New Zealand's friendliest athletics club. With a proud history dating back over 75 years, we are deeply rooted in the Owairaka community. Our club is known for its inclusive and supportive environment, following the best practises set by Athletics New Zealand.
Our junior athletics programme is designed for children aged 3 to 15 years. We believe in nurturing the potential of our young athletes and offer age-specific activities and training. As our athletes progress, we provide specialised coaching to help them reach their full potential. Our focus is on creating a family-friendly atmosphere where our junior athletes can have fun and thrive.
For our senior athletes, whether social or competitive, our athletics squad is a close-knit and friendly bunch. We cater to athletes of all levels and abilities, and everyone is welcome to join us at our regular club events. Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, we provide the support and encouragement you need to excel in your chosen events.
Throughout the summer, we participate in a range of Athletics Auckland events held at various venues, including Mt Smart. These events offer our athletes the opportunity to showcase their skills, challenge themselves, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow athletes.
If you're looking to test your endurance and follow your gut, join us for the Kerikeri Half in 2023. This iconic event attracts athletes from all over New Zealand and promises an unforgettable experience.
