About
Oxhey Bowling Club, right in Watford, is a gem hiding behind Watford Heath near Bushey. Ken Horn, the Chairman, is ready to welcome you to the oldest bowls club in the area, founded in 1910. With its six-rink outdoor green and a cosy clubhouse with a bar, it’s a great spot to bowl and socialise.
Despite the pandemic, the club stayed open and is thriving with around 70 active members and 20 social members. During winter, they keep things lively with social events, and the much-awaited outdoor bowls season kicks off on Saturday, April 29th, running until Sunday, October 1st.
Ken and the team are always eager to meet new faces. Whether you’re curious about lawn bowls or a seasoned player, they’d love to have you. They’ve got experienced players on hand to offer coaching if you’re new to the game.
Fancy giving bowls a go? Check out the “New Members' page” on their website for contact details. Ken Horn warmly invites anyone intrigued by the sport to join the fun and discover the joy of bowls!
