Padiham Cricket Club

Padiham Cricket Club is a friendly community-based cricket club located in Padiham, Lancashire. Founded in 1892, the club has a rich history and offers a warm welcome to individuals of all ages who are seeking fun, enjoyment, and competition in the sport.

The club became a founding member of The Ribblesdale Cricket League in 1982, which is situated in Lancashire, North West England. Despite facing challenges, such as the league being reduced to only four teams in 1902, Padiham Cricket Club has achieved several accomplishments throughout its existence. After finishing as runners-up in 1901 and 1906, the club won its first league championship in 1908.

Unfortunately, the club ceased operations after the First World War. However, in 1947, efforts were made to re-establish the club in Padiham. Land was purchased at the Arbories, and in 1948, Padiham Cricket Club reopened with the ground dedicated as a memorial to the victims of the Second World War. The Arbories Memorial Sports Ground continues to serve as a remarkable venue for the club's matches and has been witness to countless sporting occasions and provided entertainment for spectators for over half a century.

Padiham Sports Club, formed in 1947, acts as the trustees of the Arbories Memorial Sports Ground. The management committee of Padiham Sports Club takes care of the grounds' upkeep and maintenance, ensuring it remains accessible and available for the benefit of the local community.
