Pa-Kua Archery is an archery club located in Cambridge, New Zealand. As part of the international Pa-Kua school of martial studies, which was established in 1976, Pa-Kua Archery offers a unique approach to archery that combines ancient Chinese knowledge and multiple styles.
The club focuses on providing a family atmosphere and personalised attention to all its members. They strongly believe in the acceptance of all people and strive to create an inclusive environment for everyone. At Pa-Kua Archery, individuals are encouraged to evolve and grow both physically and mentally.
Pa-Kua Archery offers a range of classes for kids, teens, and adults. The Martial Art & Self-defence classes take place on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8pm at the Polonia Club Function Room. These classes teach individuals to defend themselves through an internal martial art based on multiple styles, all within a non-competitive and friendly environment.
The Tai Chi - Cosmodynamics classes, also held on Wednesdays, take place from 6pm to 7pm at the Polonia Club Function Room. These classes allow participants to study and practise movements of martial arts, helping them to train and control their bodies, alleviate joint pain, and gain a deeper understanding of the surrounding universe.
For those interested in Chinese Archery, Pa-Kua Archery offers classes on the first and third Saturdays of each month at the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre. Using traditional recurve bows, bamboo arrows, and a thumb draw technique with martial art elements, participants can learn the unique Chinese archery style.
Pa-Kua Archery has a detailed timetable available on their website, where individuals can find information on specific class dates, times, and locations. They also offer an indoor archery class at the Kelsey Kerridge Sports Centre on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 3pm to 4pm.
