PARD Therapeutic Riding is dedicated to providing the physical, social, and psychological benefits of horseback riding to individuals of all ages and abilities in the Peterborough area. Our certified instructors, who are accredited through the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association (CanTRA), tailor individual programs to meet the unique needs of each rider. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, we offer riding lessons that help build confidence, skills, and abilities on horseback.
As a non-profit organization that has been in operation since 1983, PARD is run entirely by volunteers who are passionate about the benefits of therapeutic riding. Our program is open to anyone who could benefit from the healing power of interacting with horses. Whether it's improving balance, posture, mobility, coordination, or strength, our program is designed to address a wide range of physical and cognitive challenges.
At PARD, we believe in the power of community support. We rely on the generosity of sponsors and donors to keep our program running and accessible to all who could benefit from it. We also welcome volunteers to join us on lesson nights, special events, or as board members, with or without prior horse experience.
