Peppy Park is a renowned horse trainer, equestrian facility, and horseback riding service located in Maryborough, Australia. With a strong focus on breeding quarter horses and thoroughbreds, Peppy Park aims to produce champion cutting, campdraft, challenge horses, and race-winning thoroughbreds. The facility also houses paint and Australian stockhorse broodmares, allowing for the registration of multi-registered progeny.
The establishment of the Peppy Park stud began in 1996 with the acquisition of their first cutting stallion, Peppy's Buc Lena, by Peppys Doc Bar. They also obtained their first mare, Kunda Peppys Lollipop, who was also sired by Peppys Doc Bar. While the Peppy lines dominate their stock, Peppy Park has invested in exceptional broodmares with bloodlines and characteristics that ensure correct conformation, temperament, trainability, and agility.
Peppy Park prioritises natural horsemanship and adheres to a foal programme to facilitate the healthy development of their young stock. Foals are well-handled from birth and then turned out with their mothers to enjoy a herd existence until they are ready for weaning. Mares and foals are then brought home and separated into adjoining paddocks to minimise the trauma associated with weaning. The mares are returned to the excellent nursery pastures until they are closer to foaling again.
In addition to breeding, Peppy Park has achieved success in horse racing. Storm Falcon, a stallion purchased at the Magic Millions Sale in 2005, has been trained by Puddy Davies in NSW and has already proven himself as a race winner in Cessnock and Taree, where he even broke a race record. Storm Falcon possesses exceptional thoroughbred conformation, a calm nature, and the desirable attributes valued by trainers. Peppy Park hopes to continue his success at stud and seeks to breed their mares with him once his racing career is complete, confident that their lines will complement each other perfectly.
At Peppy Park, every horse's physical and emotional development is given careful consideration. Their prime undulating nursery pastures provide an optimal environment for the horses to grow and thrive. The facility also focuses on breaking in and pre-training the progeny they breed, ensuring that they are prepared for their future endeavours.
Peppy Park is no longer operational, but their legacy of breeding and training exceptional horses will always be remembered.
