Performance Hub Theatre School

Performance Hub Theatre School is a dance school located in Retford, New Zealand. With a mission to inspire, nurture, and develop talent and creativity, the school offers a comprehensive range of classes in dance, drama, and singing.

In the drama sessions at Performance Hub, students engage in a mixture of improvisation and explorative drama strategies, as well as scripted works. Students are introduced to harmonies through a repertoire of contemporary pop and musical theatre songs. The use of microphones is also incorporated into the classes, with older students being taught proper microphone technique.

When it comes to dance, Performance Hub offers a wide variety of styles to explore. Classes begin with warm-up exercises that include stretching and strengthening, aimed at improving flexibility and control. Students also engage in technical exercises to develop solid technique, allowing them to execute choreography with style. The styles covered include street dance, commercial jazz, and musical theatre.

Additionally, the school offers weekly ISTD syllabus classes in tap, modern, and RAD ballet.

Performance Hub is led by a highly experienced and qualified team of teachers. Students have opportunities to visit professional recording studios and learn about voiceover recording and editing from industry professionals.

The founder and director of Performance Hub, who has had an exceptional career in musical theatre herself, brings passion, knowledge, and experience to the school. Having performed in the West End, including roles such as Bombalurina in 'CATS', singing at The London Palladium in 'Singing in the Rain', and appearing in TV shows and interviews, she adds a wealth of expertise to the school's programme.
