Sydney Dance Company is excited to announce the upcoming Performances 2024 National Tour, a showcase of the finest Australian dance talent. The tour will feature a triple-bill performance titled Ascent, as well as Rafael Bonachela’s new work momenta and a double bill Twofold featuring Impermanence by Bonachela and Love Lock by Melanie Lane.
The National Tour will kick off in Orange, NSW on 21 February, with shows scheduled in Tamworth, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, and various other cities across Australia until 25 October 2024. The final performance of momenta will take place at The Art House in Wyong.
Ascent, the triple-bill performance, will include mesmerising pieces like Forever & Ever by Antony Hamilton, I Am-ness by Rafael Bonachela, and The Shell, A Ghost, The Host & The Lyrebird. Forever & Ever blends dance, techno, fashion, and lighting for a captivating experience, while I Am-ness explores simplicity and unexpected twists inspired by composer Pēteris Vasks. The Shell, A Ghost, The Host & The Lyrebird takes audiences on a journey of transformation in an otherworldly valley.
